You definitely need to sell yourself.

You need to not worry about sounding egotistical.

You need to exude confidence, by looking your potential employer in the eye, sitting or standing up straight, listening attentively to what they have to say and answering their questions confidently.

You might want to anticipate some questions they might ask, in advance, and practice answering them. Then you won't be thrown off by something they ask.

You need to stress your strengths: leadership, being a team player, and so on. Read their job description. Those are the qualities that you want to mention, because that is what they are looking for.

You need to speak confidently and not quietly or meekly. Your potential employer needs to see and hear that you can do the job and that you are competent.
